Girls Weekend

This past weekend I went to Salt Lake with some of my girl friends. We stayed the night at the Red Lion hotel downtown. It was so nice to get away, and just enjoy some time with my friends. Friday night we made reservations at P.F. Changs. We got there at 8pm that night, and they were packed. We finally got seated at 8:45. Nothing like making reservations, and still having to wait. That night we got to our room and just stayed up and talked till 1:30am. It was so great!
We slept in till 10am. No kids there to wake us up. We got up and headed to the Gateway. We had tickets to Twilight at 1:30pm. So we had lunch and then headed up to the Theater. It's so nice to go to a movie where they have assigned seating. We walked right in and had great seats. We all really like the movie Twilight. Granted, it wasn't as good as the book, but it was still good. I want to see it again!
After the movie we went shopping. I love shopping with "the girls"! We finished our weekend off with dinner at the Market Street Grill. I love seafood, so it was nice to go have some yummy seafood. I hated to see the weekend come to an end, but I had a great time, and can't wait till we do it again! Here are some pictures from our weekend.

Super Thursday

My ward had all kinds of cool crafts this year for our "Super Thursday". I had so much fun making the things that I signed up for. Here are a few pictures of the things I made.

We made "Bubble" Watches
As you can see I really enjoyed making these. Afterall, I
did make 3 of them!
These were so much fun to make. I made a charm to go
with each watch I made. Flower bows for Madison. My friend Abbie made these
for me. I later learned how easy there are to make. So
I made about 10 more!!

Another Year Older

So, I just had my 28th birthday on November 7th. It's funny, I don't know what I expect as I get older. I guess I think I'll wake up on that day, and finally feel like an adult. Whatever that feels like. I don't know how your suppose to feel as you get older, but I still feel young. Well, I am young, but I'm not looking forward to the day when I do wake up and feel old. This is a big year for me and Jim, not only did I turn 28, but we will celebrate our 10 year anniversary in December. I can't believe we've been married 10 years. They have been both wonderful, and some of the hardest years of my life.

This year finds us at a good time in our marriage. I feel like we finally communicate well with each other. He did bring me a dozen roses for my birthday, so that's huge progress for him. He struggles with the whole flower thing, so I thought that was awesome.

We went to dinner with a few of our friends for my birthday. It was wonderful. I love going out and spending time with friends that really get you, and you can feel completely comfortable around. It's great to have friends. Dinner was really good. We were suppose to go to Tacanos, but when we got there at 5:30, they said they had a 2 hour wait. I was so bummed. I'd looked forward to that all day. We ended up going to P.F. Changs. Another of my favorites. After dinner we went and saw Eagle Eye. That was a really good movie. The guys didn't really like it. I decided that guys think way to much about movies. So much that they ruin it for them. Oh well, I thought it was great.

All in all, it's been a wonderful year. I've learned alot about myself, my family, and my husband. I had a wonderful birthday, and look forward to many, many more!! Thanks to all of you that celebrated with me!

San Fransisco

I had a work convention in San Fransisco over Halloween. Jim and I left Thursday evening to go stay at his sisters house in Salt Lake. On the way to her house I got call from my mom telling me that my brother was in the hospital with a really bad blood clot. She said it was very serious, and he would have to have emergency surgery. So as you can imagine, I was second guessing my trip. She told me to continue with my plans, that there was nothing I could do, but pray for him. So we continued to Salt Lake. We got to his sisters house that evening. We went outside and loaded our car the next morning to head to the airport, and as I was getting in on the passenger side I saw that the back window has been busted out. Again, I was thinking "are we not suppose to go on this trip"? It was so aggravating. We called the police and filed a report, switched our luggage over to his sisters car, and headed to the airport. We got to the airport 30 min. before our flight left. We ran through the airport, to find out our flight had been delayed 2 hours. To say the least, it was a long morning.

We finally arrived in S.F. around 1pm Friday. Jim had a terrible sinus infection, so as soon as we got to the hotel and he went to bed. My conference was really good. It rained all day Saturday, so we didn't do any sight seeing. So Sunday we got up and headed to pier 39. It was really cool. From the pier you could see Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Bay. It was so pretty. While we were at the pier we walked by the marina, and there were hundreds of Sea Lions. I'd never seen anything like it. They were so loud and they stunk really bad. I got to eat Sea food while we were at the pier. I love sea food, so that's all I wanted to do while I was there. It was really good!!

It was then time to head home. We have a very smooth trip home. No problems. We had a wonderful trip, but it's always nice to come home. Here are a few pictures of our trip.

Alcatraz Island. It was right off Pier 39.

This is a pictures from the street entering Pier 39. There were so many Restaurants, gift shops, candy stores, etc. there. It was by far the coolest pier!
Yes, those are Sea Lions. They would fight each other to be up on the planks. It was so funny to watch. One would finally me it up on the wood, and then they would bully him and push him back in the water.

HaPpY HaLLoWeEn 2008

This year for HaLloWeEn, Jim and I were in San Fransisco. They girls got to spend the weekend with there Aunt Marlies. They had a great time. Marlies came down and stayed Thursday night with them, so Taylor could go to school and be in her Halloween Parade. After school they packed up and headed to Salt Lake. They went to the Gateway for Halloween, and then over to the Discovery Museum. They had a great time. This year Taylor decided she wanted to be a Vampire, and Madison wanted to be a Princess, Again... I think the costumes turned out cute.Since we were in California all weekend Marlies took the girls to the Zoo on Saturday, and Cabala's on Sunday. They had so much fun that weekend! Thanks Aunt Marlies!!:)
Here are a few pictures of the girls at the Zoo, and at Cabella's.

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Well, today started out so fun!! Not really. Madison was suppose to dress up in her Halloween costume today for dance. Needless to say, she did not. She woke up in a horrible mood, and didn't want to do anything she was suppose to do. All she wanted to do was walk around the house crying. That always makes for a fun start to the day. So, we finally got her in her dance clothes, and she was off the dance.

After dance we went to lunch with Grandma, and Grandpa Burns at Red Robin in Provo. She was in a great mood at lunch, so I started talking to her about wearing her costume today to her preschool party.

Our lunch ran over of course, so when we got home we ran in the house and started getting ready. To my surprise she started putting on her costume. We had no problems. She even let me curl her hair up pretty, and put on her crown. I'm not going to be here for Halloween, so I really wanted to dress her up and take pictures of her at her party. Thankfully she was cooperating for me. We left quickly and off to school we went. Everyone was dressed and so cute. There were several other princesses at the party, so she went in and fell right in to place.

Here's Madison getting ready to leave the house for school.

This is what we did to her hair. She loved it.
She's totally happy now as you can see. She loves how cute she turned out. Worth the pain!!
Here she is at school with all her friends. All smiles...
Madison and Trevor.
It was a lot of work to get her to this point, but she made it. Dressed and all cute. It's a good thing there cute. Otherwise I don't know if all the trouble we go through for these things would be worth it....!! :)

Figuring it out!!

So for those few who saw my blog yesterday, it looks a lot different today. I'm figuring this whole thing out. I got me a great background. It adds a lot of character to the page. I've inserted more pictures. I'm just having fun playing around with all the new features. The one thing I can't seem to figure out is how to add other peoples blogs to mine. If you know what I'm talking about feel free to help me out. I'm completely confused about that part. Anyway, now all I need to do is start taking some pictures, so I have something to blog about...

Kaylee's Baptism

A few weeks ago we went to Vernal, UT for my nieces, and nephews baptism. It was quite an event to do 2 in one day. I felt like we were at the church all day. There were advantages though... we got feed by both families. That's always nice. But on a more serious note. It's always so fun to see how excited these little people are when they're getting baptized. I don't remember much from my own. I'd like to think that I was just as excited as Kaylee and Max were. Here are a few pictures from Kaylee's. I don't have any of Max's. Karen if your reading this send me some pictures so I can post him too.

Figuring out the whole Blog thing...

OK, so I'm new to this whole blogging thing. Please bare with me. I'm trying to learn all the In's and outs to it. It seems easy enough, but then I go to other peoples pages and they have the cutest back ground, fonts, lay outs, etc. I could go on. I don't even know where to start. It's a little over whelming, but I'm a fast learner. I'll be a pro in no time.

I have to say, it's been a lot of fun going through old pictures today. I think I'm really gonna enjoy doing this and keeping up with my family pictures and events. I think it will make me take more pictures. That's always a good thing for me since I'm terrible at remembering to take pictures. We shall see...!! :)

Red Barn Field Trip

I went with Madison to the Red Barn last week for her preschool field trip. It was a quick trip, but she had a blast. She got to go pick her own pumpkin from there patch. She was very particular about what kind of pumpkin she got. She was the last to finish, but she got the one she wanted.
Here she is posing for the camera. Is she cute or what....

Family Pictures

We went to Vernal a few weeks ago for my nieces baptism. While we we're there we decided to have some family pictures done. They turned out OK. I'm such a perfectionist. Oh course I see the flaws.
I was in a horrible mood. We had 2 baptisms that day, and by the time it got to this point, I'd had it. My kids we're on one all day. I guess I should be lucky they turned out as good as they did!! LOl

Field Trip with Taylors Class

A couple weeks ago, I went on a field trip with Taylor's class. We went to the Red Barn. The girls had lots of fun. Taylor ended up having all her BFF's with her in her group. We got to pick pumpkins from there pumpkin patch. And of course the girls had to pose in some pictures.

SMTM Venue with Danny Glover

With my Show me the Money business I have been able to do a few venues with Danny Glover. He not only endorses the Show me the Money system, but he also sells it to people. It was fun meeting him and working with him. This was down in Las Vegas back in August. Just another uneventful day at work.
